The network converges and pulls apart like breath. I sample and remix the media. Late at night, on and off the web - 'Save Picture As', cut and paste, 'Set Layer Properties', image upon image - until something finally happens. In his book The Consul, Ralph Rumney talks about "the gaze penetrating the image", where there is no clear idea where the image is going. The process, or experience, is difficult to explain. It is as if certain images speak to one another, share a mutual language or memory. Visual coincidences are prodded into existence. The raw material comes from sites with images of experimental audiovisual poetry, internet mapping and news media. Also from personal archive files. I may have found a ghost in my machine.
