do ghosts gather in daylight? that would change everything… though perhaps not in xanthus.
carelessness with the soul is the sign of the times — not to be ignored, not to be dismissed, not to be coveted but nevertheless always present.
condemned to flames? perhaps, but there is another version of this story. borge’s dreamer too was condemned to the flames, but in an opposite way. it was only the flame that would tell him he was real — and he was both blessed and refused by fire itself.
one can easily see how the towers of babel begin to crumble… until only the heads of bishops remain as stepping stones among the rubble.
