   It was a gorgeous Sunday morning and Tom wanted to go up the hill to play with his friends, so he hid his Sunday School clothes under his mattress.

   Mother: Are you ready for church yet?
   Tom: I can’t find my suit.
   Mother: Enough shenanigans out of you.

   (just oodling from now on, no can do about it)

   no one’s paying the piper
   the piper plays freely

    yeah, shenanigans has so many connotations,
    including some not so pleasant (but of course
    those are not intended here ;-)

    hup two three four reminds me of air cadets,
    learning to march in precision with the drill team,
    the only thing i liked about the experience
    other than the rifle range ( red slippers
    were definitely out of the question ;-)

    air cadets, that’s a coincidence. i’ve been doing a little research about air cadets for a piece i’m writing based on my dad – probably where hup two three four came from.
